9. Screwless Assembly

The HDX offers the capability to quickly change out the hard drive inside the enclosure without tools.  Imagine if someone brings a drive into the studio that is missing its power adapter - no problem, you can quickly install it into an HDX enclosure and you are ready to go.  It takes just six easy steps to install or replace a drive.

10. High Quality Connectors

Not only are the interconnection cables important to the speed and reliability of every hard drive, but also the connector that the cable connects to on the drive is just as important.  All HDX port connectors are gold plated for optimum connectivity and maximum performance. On the HDX, the data contacts are offset to prevent power spikes on the data channels when connecting the cables.

11. Fully Shielded Metal Chassis

Stray digital RF radiation can not only be annoying but also can render low volume music unusable or make video images noisy and grainy.  To ensure against any stay RF or other electrical interference, the HDX is fully shielded in a metal chassis.  The power supply and the bridge circuitry are also grounded to the chassis and back to the house ground via the 3-prong grounded power cord.  The HDX meets or exceeds FCC Part B requirements.
