The HDX Advantage Continued
5. 3-Prong Polarized Power Cord
Caution: Many of the most popular drives come with a 2-prong non-polarized power cord. These cords offer little in the way of protection from electrical shock, and in some facilities are banned from use. They are also notorious for being reversed when plugged in, which can cause hum and interference in your system. Some power cords are even hard wired to the external power adapter, which means you will have cut the plug off if you need to use the drive internationally.

6. Stackable Cases with Locking Feet
|
Whether you are carrying a stack of drives or they are stacked on your desktop, the locking feet on the HDX enclosure will prevent the drives from sliding apart. With the HDX, you can stack as many drives as you need because they are fan cooled and heat transfer is not a problem. |
The HDX allows you to save space by stacking the drives vertically using the stand with its extra small footprint. |

7. Lockbox - The Lockable, Foam-lined, Shippable Carry Case
No more duct tape holding CDs and cables together with your drive. A lot of work is put into your recording so why not give your drive the protection it deserves. Only Avastor offers as standard, a foam-lined, lockable carry case with every HDX drive. The LockBox carry case has room for cables and cord storage or even two HDX drives - a tremendous space savings when archiving your drives. The LockBox also has a storage area for CDs or DVDs. It can be locked for secure shipping and storage. Included in every LockBox is a NARAS approved label for easy documentation of your project.

8. Separate LED Power and Activity Indicator
Sometimes it is the small things that make a big difference, like the professional looking separate power and activity LED indicators on the HDX. The LEDs are small and unobtrusive yet they offer instant feedback if there is a power or data problem. Many drives that combine the power and activity indicators into a single bright “neon” light can leave you or your client wondering “Is that light flashing because there is a power problem, or is data transferring?"
