LiveWire Remote Recorders choose Avastor
November 1, 2009 The LiveWire mobile traveled to Montreal in July to record four concerts at the Jazz Festival for Spectel. Jesse Cook, Zachary Richard, Nikki Yanovsky and Ben Harper all put on amazing performances. The 56 track portable system was in use on the same weekend, with engineer Phil Hay recording Broken Social Scene at Harbourfront for a documentary directed by Bruce McDonald. LiveWire recorded Blue Rodeo's annual concert at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre for a future Sirius Radio Broadcast. Blue Rodeo was also recognized at this year's Canada's Walk of Fame Induction Gala. They, along with Tom Cochrane performed at the ceremony, which took place at Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and was hosted by Anne Murray. July 17 was "Gospel Day in Canada" for LiveWire. The truck was at the Revival Time Tabernacle to record a live cd for the New Olivet Sanctuary Choir of Memphis, Tennessee while the 56 track portable system was set up backstage at Queensway Cathedral for a live HD dvd shoot for Houston's Israel Houghton and the New Breed. In September, we were back at Queensway to record dvd's for gospel icon CeCe Winans and Dietrick Haddon for House of Levi. LiveWire recorded the audio for a live dvd for alt-rockers Marcy Playground at Lee's Palace in September for EMI Music Canada. Doug took the portable 32 track system to The Tom Patterson Theatre at the Stratford Festival to record Ben Johnson's "Bartholomew Fair" for Bravo! The music was written by Stephen Page, former lead singer for BareNaked Ladies. LiveWire provided the music mix for the finale of YTV's The Next Star, from the International Stage at Canada's Wonderland. The show featured performances by Fefe Dobson and Justin Bieber. Chief Engineer Doug McClement mixed Passion Pit at for MTV live at The Masonic Temple in mid-August.
