AVASTOR RELEASES THE NEW XMR MOBILE RAID DRIVE…

Peachtree City, GA, USA
June 13, 2011
- Avastor, a company built on quality and performance, is releasing their new XMR Mobile RAID hard disk drive. This professional two-disk drive combines two 2.5” SATA drives into the smallest RAID enclosure available. Not only is it slim and easily portable, the XMR provides up to 2 TB memory space and offers four modes of operations.
Steve Smith, President of Avastor, says, “…The XMR is the perfect storage solution for traveling audio/video professionals, digital creationists and anyone who needs fast, flexible, compact portable RAID storage on the go.”
The XMR is small, but powerful for its size. It has the latest generation of bridge chip sets, the fastest drive mechanisms, and an eSATA port that all combine to provide the fastest dual drive data transfer rates. This device has a wide array of connection options: an eSATA, USB 2.0, and a FireWire 800. With all of these interfaces located in one device, it makes the XMR practical for any high resolution data applications, such as audio/video editing, digital photography, and high-speed backup. The XMR comes with the RAID Master software making it simple to store and compose using your choice of the RAID modes.
The XMR supports the two most popular RAID modes; RAID 0 and RAID 1. By using the RAID 0 application the user is able to combine the two disks and maximize the storage space up to a massive 2 TB, ideal for larger projects. On the other hand, the user can use RAID 1 and have the security of real time mirroring backup.
